The Edsel Citation was a model produced by the Ford Motor Company's Edsel division for the 1958 model year. The Edsel brand was introduced by Ford in an attempt to compete with General Motors and Chrysler.
The 1958 Edsel Citation featured distinctive styling that was quite unique for its time. It had a "horse-collar" or "toilet-seat" grille in the front and distinctive vertical tailfins.
It was equipped with a V8 engine, and customers could choose from several engine options, including a 361 cubic inch (5.9-liter) V8 that produced different levels of horsepower depending on the specific configuration.
Today, the 1958 Edsel Citation is remembered for its unique design, despite its commercial failure, it has become a collector's item and is occasionally featured in vintage car shows and museums as a symbol of automotive design from that era.
Decorated in mid grey with contrasting red masked colour scheme to the back, roof, side flashes and wheel centres, the vehicle is registered DB-161 from NY Empire State 58. The interior, seats and steering all reflect the dark red masked body colour.
The Oxford Diecast Silver Gray Ember Red Edsel Citation 1958 - 1:87 Scale comes on a plinth with a clear case lid.
