Ford Cortina MKII Blue Mink
The Ford Cortina was produced in the UK between 1962 and 1982, across five generations of the marque, three of which - the MkI, MkII and Mk III - have all been tooled up as Oxford miniatures. During the 1970s, the Cortina was the UK's best-selling car. It was also highly successful on the rally circuit, which Oxford has already captured in previous releases.
Ford launched the MkII version of the Cortina in 1966. Designed by Roy Haynes, it was produced at the Ford Dagenham Works and came as a 2, 4 or 5-door saloon. Our 1:76 scale Oxford model is based on the 2-door version and it takes to the road in a pale blue colour scheme with silver exterior trim and a black interior. The characteristic wide radiator grille is finished in chrome and black while the rear features the Cortina Super marque. The car is registered OPJ 437E from 1967.
