Introduced in 1968 into the UK market, the Ford Capri Mk1 had been designed by Ford’s US designer Philip T Clark. Its sporty look and sleek lines, 4-speed manual gearbox along with its affordability to the ordinary motorist made this fastback coupé a desirable motor to have. Assembled at the UK’s Halewood plant, production continued until 1973 when it was superseded by the Mk2, which also features in the Oxford series.
