5 Piece Austin Set
Austin has been part of the family car scene since the 1920s and Oxford has brought together a selection across the years from that period right up to the early 1980s.
76ACF002 Austin Cambridge – Armadillo Beige/Red
The first Austin Cambridge replaced the Austin Somerset and was in production from 1954 to 1969. Here we see the later version in light beige and red masked colour scheme, registered 129 SAU.
76ALL001 Austin Allegro Estate 1300 – Citron
The Austin Allegro Estate classed as a small family car was made in the Austin-Morris department of British Leyland between 1973 and 1982. This bright lime green colour scheme launched Oxford’s 1:76 scale replica and is registered HON 568N from 1974-75.
76AUS002 Austin 1300GT – Flame Red
Another Austin from the 1970s is the 1300 GT, again a four door saloon, joins the collection in bright red registered HPA 647K from 1971-72.
76SOM002 Austin Somerset – Buckingham Green
It’s back to the 1950s for the Austin Somerset and we have reviewed the first release of this newly tooled model in this issue. Now you have the second release for the first time decorated in a muted sage green colour with matching green and white wheels and copper brown interior. It is registered JRD 789.
76ASS002 Austin Seven RN Saloon – Light Royal Blue/Black.
Last but not least, designed by Sir Herbert Austin in 1921, the Austin Seven was the start of an era at the Longbridge plant from 1922. The RN followed 10 years later and was slightly longer than its diminutive forebear. Concluding our set, we present the RN four door saloon in a contrasting light royal blue and black colour scheme with royal blue interior. It is registered KF 8047.
