Accurascale ACC-2154-DCC British Rail Type 5/ Class 55 Deltic in BR Green. DCC Ready (21 pin)
A total of 22 Class 55 “Deltic” locomotives were produced for British Rail in the early 1960s. The class featured the revolutionary Napier Deltic power unit, which housed its cylinders in an unusual triangular formation - with crankshafts at each corner. The Deltics dominated East-coast express traffic throughout most of the 1960s and 1970s, before being displaced by the HST. The class then saw use on semi-fast passenger and freight services before their withdrawal by the end of 1982. A total of six can still be seen in preservation today.
Another exceptional model from Accurascale. The DCC chip has been removed and this model comes DCC Ready with DCC fitting easy via a magnetic held panel in the roof. The previous owner removed the body for some reason, thus the bogie chains were broken. We have repaired them as best we could.. Apart from this the engine is as it was when bought and has not been run.
