Hornby R2869 GWR Railcar W22 in BR crimson/cream. This is the Hornby released version of the Lima engine
In the 1930s, the Great Western Railway introduced a number of successful railcar vehicles onto their network, which survived in regular use into the 1960s. They experimented with different designs into the 1940s, ending with the GWR Swindon-built batches which featured dual AEC 105 bhp engines. These later designs featured angular bodywork, which contrasted the streamlined bodies of the originals and earned them the "razor edge" nickname. Two of the Swindon-built units still survive in preservation
This railcar has had a full service and has been fully tested. It is an excellent runner.
The bodywork is in excellent condition throughout. All the glazing is good and all buffers and couplers present.
It comes in a Lima box with the correct service sheet
