Lima Class 67 Bo Bo 67025 in EWS red/gold, professionally weathered
A total of thirty Class 67s were constructed for EWS between 1999 and 2000 by Alstom at Meinfesa in Spain. The engine, generator and traction motors were provided by General Motors Electro-Motive Division, the engine being similar to the one used in the EMD-built Class 66 locomotives. The class was intended for use on express passenger workings as well as on high-speed Royal Mail services, displacing the aging Class 47 locomotives. Following the loss of EWS's Royal Mail contract and the cessation of these services in 2004, the class have found work on a wide variety of passenger, sleeper trains, infrastructure monitoring and freight service
This engine has been aftermarket weathered to a high standard. All buffers and couplings are as they should be. It features the Lima five-pole motor. It has had a light service and at some point, a DCC conversion was done and removed, so some of the wiring was tidied up. Its had a full service and runs very well
