Colours of US Army Europe vehicles from 1970s till 1980s
So-called "MASSTER" camouflage, a predecessor of MERDC scheme, was developed in early 1970s within Modern Army Selected Systems Test, Evaluation and Review project (hence it's commonly used name). It was widely tested by units of United States Army Europe (USAREUR) based in West Germany. The scheme was used through late 1980s (and in some cases well into the 2000s).
The Dual Texture Gradient Patter or "DUALTEX" camouflage was another experimental scheme, tested between 1978 and 1985 on vehicles of 2nd (US) Armoured Cavalry Regiment deployed along inner German border. The scheme itself followed standard MERDC Winter Verdant colours, but used them in form of square shapes - in this way it was predecessor of modern digital / pixel schemes.
The Orange Line paints are specially formulated lacquer based paints optimised for airbrushing. The product was developed to satisfy needs of all modellers – it is perfect for professional use (application of many semi-transparent layers, gradual building of colours / colour shading, application of very fine lines, etc.), but also very forgiving to beginners. It has significantly limited odour compared to other similar products, hence is more suitable for home use. All colours are highly pigmented and permanent.
