Standard colours of Belgian aircraft from 1950s till 1980s
After the age of natural metal coloured planes the first camouflage schemes to appear in the Belgian AF were "imported" with British / Canadian originated aircraft. All Belgian day fighters of that time (Gloster Meteor, Hawker Hunter, CF-100 Canuck) wore DG + DSG over PRU Blue or MSG (or Aluminium). Night version Meteors NF.11 appeared first in DG + MSG scheme, later changed to standard DG + DSG over MSG.
In 1970s, with the introduction of Mirage 5BAs, the Belgian AF switched to modified US "Vietnam" camouflage of FS30219, FS34102, FS34064 over FS36622, which was also used on F/TF-104G, T-33A, F/RF-84F, C-130, SF.260, Magister (one plane) and Alpha Jet 1B till 1990s.
The Orange Line paints are specially formulated lacquer based paints optimised for airbrushing. The product was developed to satisfy needs of all modellers – it is perfect for professional use (application of many semi-transparent layers, gradual building of colours / colour shading, application of very fine lines, etc.), but also very forgiving to beginners. It has significantly limited odour compared to other similar products, hence is more suitable for home use. All colours are highly pigmented and permanent.
