Standard colours of Danish AFVs since 1980s
Since early 1980s Danish Army vehicles wear a distinctive green-black (or overall green) camouflage. The green colour is known as the “SK/80” or “Regular Green” (or “Kermit Green”).
When the Danish Parliament decided to deploy Leopard 2 MBTs and support vehicles to Helmand Province, Afghanistan in 2007, the vehicles of the Tank Detachment were painted in a special colour scheme known as the “QRF (Quick Reaction Force) scheme”. The new tri-colour camouflage (more suitable for local terrain conditions) was used on Leopard 2A5 DK, Leopard 1 ARV (Bergepanzer) and support vehicles.
A modification of this scheme - without the green colour – has also been observed since 2010 on Leo's of the Army Combat and Fire Support Centre.
