Standard colours of Israeli planes since late 1970s

The so-called "1970's desert scheme" introduced in July 1967 remained in use on various IAF aircraft (incl. F-4s and A-4s) till their withdrawal from service.

At the same time the "Air Superiority Grey" scheme, derived from US "Compass Ghost Grey" pattern, was introduced in 1976 together with first F-15A/Bs (and has later been used on F-15C/D, Kfir C2 and RF-4E Phantom).

In 1980 first F-16A/Bs entered service in modified desert scheme. It has been used on all versions of F-16, Kfir C7s and F-15Is. Recently introduced M-346I "Lavi" and F-35I "Adir" have brought new painting schemes into IAF use.
