Flush Cutting Saw
As saws go, this one is quite ingenious and very useful.
The majority of the cutting blade is very flexible so that it can be placed flat against a surface whilst allowing you to still hold the handle. In addition, the cutting teeth have no set (that is, they are not splayed out as normal) so that they will not mark the surface they are rubbing against.
Thus, it is very useful when you wish to cut something flush with the surface it protrudes out of, for example, dowels, pegs, and plugs. Note that unlike most saws, the cutting is done on the ‘pull’ stroke rather than the ‘push’ stroke.
As with any sharp instrument, keep your fingers well away from the blade and always, if possible, cut away from you rather than towards you.
By doing so, if the blade slips off the item being cut, it will not accidently cut you!
The blade is 0.35mm (.012”) thick, 165mm (6.5”) long, and will cut to a depth of 32mm (1 1/4”). There are 16 teeth per inch, ensure a nice clean, smooth cut.
