So, you have a a very detailed layout with fantastic scenery, realistic buildings, superbly authentic trackwork, locomotives and rolling stock. You have added the extra dimension of sound or smoke effects to some of your locomotives too. So what’s left to further enhance your layout? Well, maybe you have considered adding lighting to your layout, tempted by the further dimension and atmosphere that it can add to all, including the best of, layouts. As well as lights in your buildings and in your locomotives and rolling stock, there are lights to be found all around the railway infrastructure. But maybe you are put off by the thought of having to wire up and solder each light. Well, there are numerous products that require NO SOLDERING at all! One such example is this OO gauge working tail light from Train-Tech. It represents a traditional oil-burning version having a flickering light. It is powered by the included battery which lasts a LONG time. There is no soldering required, and everything is included, even a spare LED. and the LED plugs in. The unit is concealed in the wagon, brake van or coach, and is turned on when movement of the vehicle is sensed. It will turn off after a period of 4 minutes - a long time in the model railway world - if no further movement is detected.
