Inspection Pit for engine shed dioramas

Inspection pits are a feature of many locomotive and carriage servicing facilities allowing fitters access to examine rolling stock from the underneath. You can model this common feature using Peco's 'Inspection Pit' kit that comes complete with Code 100 nickel silver rails.

The kit is supplied with six 50 mm long sections that fit together to make an inspection pit of any length up to a maximum of 297 mm. Other features include two sets of steps, four checker plate walkway covers and a drainage grate moulded into the bottom of each pit section.

The four included code 100 nickel silver rail sections each measure 165 mm long and slot firmly into the special chairs moulded into the top surface of the pit ensuring a reliable alignment. Please note that rail joiners are not included in this kit.

Additional Information: Unless installing to a raised section of track, a channel approximately 14 mm wide will need to be cut into the baseboard to accommodate the pit's 10 mm depth. All parts are pre-coloured for use but can be weathered or painted further to suit.
