Ballast Magic is a non-toxic powder-based adhesive specially formulated to allow ballast granules or coal to be secured onto a layout. As this is a powder-based adhesive it avoids the likelihood of points being glued in one position which sometimes occurs when PVA glue is used to secure ballast. The Ballast Magic powder is thoroughly mixed with the ballast granules, generally at a ratio of 1:7 Ballast Magic to granules. Once thoroughly mixed the ballast can then be applied directly to the layout. Once in the desired position simply spray with a fine water mist which will then allow the mixture to bond instantly. Once sprayed the mixture will be fully cured in 1-2 hours. The resultant mixture will fully dry to a realistic-looking matt finish and will be durable enough for regular handling and movement.
Similarly, Ballast Magic can be used to secure other similar substrates such as coal in a tender or wagon. Likewise, it can be used to secure scatter and most other substances that are to be created in piles.
