Each model kit comes with decals specific to the prototype and assembly instructions to help with the build.

The Mk.XVI Spitfire was built to the same design as the MkIX, production was carried out using a Merlin engine manufactured under licence by Packard, a US company. The aircraft is identical to the Mk.IX in every way except for engine bolts that conformed to US standards not British ones. Due to this, a special tool set was needed to undertake work on the aircraft and the dedicated Mk.XVI classification was subsequently awarded.
