Spitfire Mk.Vb Floatplane 1/72 scale
Includes: Plastic sprue, Plastic sprue (Clear) , Photoetched fret, Resin (cast), Decalsheet (waterslide)
The first Spitfire floatplane was a conversion of a Mark I, the so called "Narvik Nightmare" R6722 which was produced at the time of the German invasion of Norway. However, after the end of the Battle of Norway, the project was suspended until the beginning of the war in the Pacific against Japan. Indeed, a floatplane fighter was essential in the island campaigns which seemed likely to follow. So, some Spitfire Mk Vb (W3760) were converted in floatplane with Supermarine designed floats.
